Richard Kowalczyk

Richard Kowalczyk joined the Sias University Foundation Board in 2016. He is the Managing Partner at Medallurgy, LLC, a business consulting firm focused on helping companies gain strategic traction in the Silicon Valley ecosystem. Most recently Mr. Kowalczyk established Medallurgy 10X to provide both the services and partnerships needed to help fast track Chinese companies setting up operations in the United States. He is also a business advisor at several Silicon Valley technology company incubators.

 

Mr. Kowalczyk is an active government official, having been elected in 2009, and 2014, to the Half Moon Bay, California, City Council, serving as Mayor in 2013, and 2015. He plays an active role across Silicon Valley, working to build relationships across the region and state to strengthen economic and social ties. Key highlights of Mr. Kowalczyk's leadership include leading his city's economic recovery after a deep recession, building a major new library with no tax increase to the community, and driving the first major infrastructure projects in the city after 4 decades of inactivity.

 

He is a member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization China Silicon Valley. China Silicon Valley leverages city-level channels between Silicon Valley and fast growing regions in China for business activity, cultural exchange, relationship building.

 

Mr. Kowalczyk has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, with a focus on Business Strategy and Marketing. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Detroit.
